The teBogt Trot
Happy Fall Everyone!
These months are a great time to exercise outdoors and enjoy the cooler temperatures and lovely fall colours. Fall brings crisp air, apple picking, pumpkin carving and, in our Courtice community, it also brings the “teBogt Trot”. Let me tell you a little about this event...
This community event is a Poker Run 5 or 10 km Run, Walk, Cycle or Crawl fundraiser. Each year the committee chooses a different charity to donate all proceeds. This year all proceeds will be supporting a young family in Courtice whose 6 month old son was recently diagnosed with Angelman syndrome, a rare neurological disorder. Characteristics or symptoms of Angelman syndrome include developmental delay, lack of speech, seizures, and walking and balance disorders. Individuals diagnosed with Angelman syndrome will require life-long care.
This event takes place the afternoon of November 2, 2019 in Courtice, followed by an evening social at Sir Monty’s from 7 pm to 12 am. Many local businesses, including Clarington Physiotherapy Health and Wellness Centre, have made gift/basket donations to be raffled off. Fundraiser activities will be available on site.
The cost is $25 per person, children are free.
If you would like to make a cash, gift or basket donation, or if you would like to join in on the fun November 2, 2019, please contact myself, Karen Bailey at 905-404-6126. Tickets are limited.
Hope to see you there!!
